Chest freezers...
Commercial chest freezers can be supplied with stainless steel lids and exteriors, and with metal - as opposed to plastic - interior lining, which of course leads to a harder wearing product with a longer lifespan.
Versions are produced with glass lids, either sliding or curved as illustrated, for use as self-service cabinets. The sliding lid type is often used for ice cream products, and will usually be branded accordingly.
A domestic chest freezer can usually be used for commercial frozen storage if temperature-taking and record-keeping follow best practice. However, any chest freezer will take up a lot of floor space, and you can’t use the lid as a worktop if regular access to the frozen food is required. For this reason upright cabinets are more popular in the catering trade than chest freezers.
